Member of Parliament for Most, Zvonimir Troskot, commented on the terrible train accident, which happened on Friday evening near Novska in the town of Raić, as well as the Government’s package of measures to help citizens.
“I was shocked by the news of the accident. I would like to express my condolences to the families of those who died, and I hope that the injured people will not have any problems and that they will recover successfully. I see two problems here. The first is infrastructural, because these things should not happen today, since there are systems in place that should prevent them. As for the speculation about the migrants, there is now also a question of security. The whole concept of Schengen is called into question, because if undeclared people travel around Croatia by train without any problems, we have a big security problem,” he said. Troskot.
He referred to the Government’s package of measures to help citizens.
“The fact that a package has been prepared to help citizens is to be welcomed, although this amount is only one third of what the European Parliament estimated to be stolen through corruption. This is the amount we borrow from you annually on international markets. This is the money that citizens pay at the end of the day. This is our money, whether it was paid at higher prices and the budget was filled through VAT, or through borrowing through bonds or HEP. Let’s remember that the Government has approved additional debts, so all of this will be paid off. There is also the question of taxation of extra profits, which is a political-economic measure with which we do not agree. These are measures taken over from the EU. The question is what is extra profit and which energy companies should we tax. The conclusion is reached that it is only about HEP and INA. They already fill the budget because they are owned by Croatia. Those companies are already well taxed and that money ends up in the budget, it doesn’t make any sense,” he said.
“Price restrictions will pay off”
He states that the measure to limit food prices is also pointless.
“As far as food is concerned, let’s remember Yugoslavia, which also made such decisions, which led to food shortages. We also have the example of Serbia, which introduced restrictions on sugar and now they have shortages. This was done so that the HEP model was transferred to agriculture. A message was sent to producers that they should purchase oil at market prices and sell it at controlled prices. This will come due in a few months. Europe is setting control prices, which was first done by the G7. The control of oil energy products should be up to 60 dollars per barrel, and the question arises why Russia should pay a different price than, for example, Saudi Arabia?”.
In the Mosta club, we predicted certain EU moves and we do not agree with them. We believe that this leads to danger. Europe, in addition to introducing control prices according to the G7 model, is even thinking of declaring a state of emergency and dividing countries into green and red depending on how they are doing in terms of energy. The background of the story is that Germany is red, and the whole effect will spill over to the eurozone countries, which means that all member countries would bear the consequences of wrong German energy policies, such as the inexplicable shutdown of nuclear power plants,” he said.
