Escape Hunt Lisbon: Let’s go to the Popular Fair?

From the magic mirrors to the caramelized sweet apples, from the rubber ducklings to the sounds, everything in the new escape room at Escape Hunt Lisboa, which opened in early September, in downtown Lisbon, recalls the late Feira Popular de Lisboa in Entrecampos, which closed 19 years ago. .

The mission is to bring the memory of this amusement park that, for decades, enchanted generations of families, through challenges and riddles that must be deciphered, in a group (ideally of five) and in a maximum of 60 minutes, and whose answer will allow ” leave the room”. In this case, you have to find the key element to restart the fair, here’s the tip.

“It’s the most challenging, difficult game with the biggest technological component we have”, explains Marta Pereira Duarte, 33, manager of the Escape Hunt project, created in 2015, which offers two more rooms: the Mystery of Fernando Pessoa, dedicated to the poet’s passions (astronomy and astrology); and the Secret Society, where players have one hour to prove whether they belong in a restricted group. “The idea is that it is difficult, but not impossible. This game, unlike the others, is not sequential”, emphasizes Marta Pereira Duarte. Everything the players need to solve the puzzle is inside the room. In fact, it is not necessary to have memory to decipher them. This is the case of the friends we cross paths with (they were born in 2004, a year after the Feira Popular de Lisboa closed). “I wasn’t born at that time, and we managed to leave the room in 59 minutes and 20 seconds”, proudly says Vicente Freitas, repeating these adventures in escape rooms. When asked how difficult it is, he responds without hesitation: “Of the three rooms, this one is the most difficult of them all.” For now, only about 30% of visitors manage to solve the mystery, with the record being 42 minutes. The challenge is out.
