Whether you’re a die-hard Fast and the Furious fan or a fan of the show’s more recent movies, you probably know a thing or two about Toretto’s house. In fact, you may even know a thing or two about Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo High School.
Toretto’s House
Located in the Echo Park area of Los Angeles, the Toretto’s House is a multi-family dwelling with four units. It has a history of being used as an exterior filming location for the Fast and Furious franchise since 2001. The house appears in several of the films.
The house is located at 722 E Kensington Rd. This location has a strong connection to Vin Diesel’s character, Dominic Toretto. The house was built in the year 1906, and it still stands today.
The house is in a neighborhood with a strong African-American population and a low percentage of whites. It was once a suburban house named 1327. However, the house is now split into several apartment units.
There are many people who visit the house to see the house. They usually come from all over the world. Most of them are young, and they gawk at the house all day. Some of them even pose in front of it.
Stratford Hotel
Stratford Hotel was the illustrative name of David Park’s house in Fast & Furious. However, it’s not the only thing the house has in common with the Hollywood blockbuster.
While there is no real connection between Elizabeth Taylor and the house, the house does have a hefty number of visitors every week. The house is on the list of things to see in L.A., but it doesn’t appear in every Fast and Furious movie.
The house also has a more interesting claim to fame, and the most interesting part is that the house has been standing in its original form since 1963. In fact, it’s the only one of the four houses still standing in its original form. The other three buildings have been demolished after the movie’s production wrapped up.
Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo High School
Located in the heart of Long Beach, California, Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo High School is a drool worthy 64 acre behemoth of a campus. In 1999, the school graduated its first class of 75 students. The campus has a total of three buildings, the largest of which is the new administration building. The school also has a plethora of sports facilities including two stadia, a football field and a gymnasium. The school also plays host to several sports teams including a varsity basketball team and the aforementioned football team. In the football department, Juan Rodriguez is a perennial powerhouse, albeit one with a bit of a rough ride in the past.
While the school was a bit of a snobbish elitist in the past, it’s a nice place to send your kid off to school.
Hawthorne Plaza Shopping Center
Located between El Segundo Boulevard and Hawthorne Boulevard in Hawthorne, California, Hawthorne Plaza Shopping Center has become a filming location for a number of movies and television shows over the years. It was a popular mall in the late 1970s and early 1980s, but has since gone into decline.
The mall opened in 1977 on a 40-acre lot. It had free standing stores at the south end and an indoor mall in the middle. It was anchored by Montgomery Ward and JC Penney. It did well until the late 1990s when it was competing with other shopping centers.
It is currently shuttered, though, and a renovation plan is underway. It will include walkable outdoor retail strips, courtyards, upper-level homes and parklets. It is expected to close in 2021.
Neptune’s Net
Located on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California, Neptune’s Net is a popular restaurant for locals and tourists alike. This is the place to go if you are looking for a fun, affordable dining experience with a scenic ocean view.
Neptune’s Net is a surf and turf restaurant that has been in business for over 50 years. Owners say that over 80% of their annual business occurs in the summer. The restaurant is open seven days a week.
During the summer, Neptune’s Net is a popular destination for family vacationers, locals, and college kids on break. It is also a popular filming location. It has appeared in the films The Fast and the Furious (2001), Losin’ It (2009), The Hills, and People Like Us.
It is also a popular hangout for bikers. Riders from Germany and France roar down PCH on the weekends.
