President Zoran Milanović made a statement to the media on the occasion of the swearing-in of the 20th generation of cadets of the HVU “Dr. Franjo Tuđman”.
He commented on the dismissal of the head of VSOA Edges of Kinder:
“I believe that he never went through a yellow light, nor smuggled in a tram, but things happened under his rule that the DORH will have to deal with. I have no choice. It is known who the commander-in-chief is. It cannot be some private person listening to the prime minister. I’m sorry that this happened because I know General Kinder from my studies. He has been doing this job for seven years and in a way it was painful for me to do this,” said Milanović.
As he states, this will be a serious problem for the minister Marija Banožićwhom the Prime Minister “protects as if he were his own”.
“The way VSOA works, it’s nonsensical. That organization should be given new content and hierarchy,” Milanović said.
“A serious problem with regard to Minister Banožić, whom the Prime Minister treats as if he were his own son. That security segment needs to be given new content and a new hierarchy.”
Milanović was also asked by journalists to comment on the indictments from Serbia against Croatian pilots, that is, former commanders of the Croatian Air Force.
“If I were the prime minister, I would do something. The government did nothing. I can propose to him, but not this publicly. This is about terrorism against Croatian pilots. They didn’t even fly then, they were the commanders of those who flew. It is unclear what Serbia wants, they want to enter the European Union. I will not help someone who does not want to help himself. Serbia behaves as if it is preparing to join the Shanghai group. Of course, Croatia has a way to respond if there is political will. Plenković can, I don’t know why he won’t. If someone curses your mother several times, you can act or not. There is a whole series of questions that Serbia has no right to ask. Their whole aura of morality to judge everything that happened in the territory of the former state will not lead them to the EU,” said Milanović.
He referred to the Prime Minister’s statement Andrej Plenkovićwho invited the high representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schmidt to use the Bonn powers.
“And what have I been doing for the last year? Time is of the essence. Some things you do on time or you don’t. I had to shake the entire NATO out of my pockets and talk about it somewhere where it is not appropriate. About the senselessness of the mandate of the high representative who uses his illegal powers only against Croats. That gentleman splattered some kind of mush there, which he gave to the public debate. Do you have authority or not? If you have, then why are you making it public? And then two thousand rowdies take to the streets, and you panic and go to Germany to marry your daughter. Let two thousand Serbs come to Sarajevo, or Croats from Mostar, and let’s see how it goes. And now Andrej Plenković is calling for something. You know what they say, Marko arrives late in Kosovo”. He said.
