The appeal of the Voice of Entrepreneurs bore fruit: Entrepreneurs saved HRK 400 million

On Wednesday, the Voice of Entrepreneurs Association called on the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Justice to implement as soon as possible the promise that entrepreneurs will not be charged for the notary service for the conversion of the capital’s currency from kuna to euro, which will save entrepreneurs more than HRK 400 million.

In the press release, it is reminded that the UGP “more than a month ago was the first to speak and pointed out a new potential financial burden for entrepreneurs, with which the state would charge for the paper that it had already given, that is, it wanted to charge for the conversion of the capital’s currency from kuna to euro in the court register by price of HRK 2,500 for notary services”.

It is emphasized that in its first appeal, the UGP expressed concern about additional levies and unnecessary financial burdens on entrepreneurs who are barely surviving with the high costs of their business, and that “the timely reaction and persistence of the UGP was not in vain”.

“We are glad that the Prime Minister took UGP’s appeal into account and promised yesterday in the morning in the Croatian Parliament that he would not burden the entrepreneurs, thus the UGP’s steadfastness bore fruit and removed a burden weighing HRK 400 million from the ‘backs’ of Croatian entrepreneurs “, they state from the Voice of Entrepreneurs Association, emphasizing that “this is not only a victory for UGP, but also for all entrepreneurs in Croatia”.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković pointed out that the concept of introducing the euro is such that the conversion takes place without costs for citizens and entrepreneurs.

“The general concept was that the conversion of kuna to euros would take place without costs for citizens and entrepreneurs,” said Plenković in Parliament, who announced that he would also resolve the issue of notary fees that entrepreneurs must pay when converting share capital.

The Voice of Entrepreneurs Association expects that the Prime Minister and the relevant Ministry of Justice and Administration will fulfill their promise in the coming weeks, and in this way meet and free entrepreneurs from unnecessary financial burdens.

“Such a positive decision is of immense importance for Croatian entrepreneurs who are already struggling to deal with the energy crisis caused by the pandemic, the war in Ukraine and inflation,” the UGP points out.

“The UGP will always protect the interests of micro, small, medium-sized entrepreneurs and craftsmen, it is unfortunate that we are the only ones”, the president of the Voice of Entrepreneurs Association, Hrvoje Bujas, said in a press release.
