‘Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2’: Release 2023?

    adminBy adminNovember 11, 2022No Comments2 Mins Read

The myth of vampirism has long fascinated people of different cultures. So it’s no wonder that the bloodsuckers are represented in almost all art forms – including video games. A representative is the tabletop adaptation ‘Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines’ from 2004. Fans have been waiting for the sequel to the role-playing game for a long time. There may soon be reason to celebrate.

‘Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2’: release is set soon

    Editor’s recommendation

As early as 2015, publisher Paradox Interactive spoke about the possibility of a second part, and shortly thereafter the project was confirmed. The release date was set for 2020, but then the problems around ‘Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2’ piled up. After delays caused by the change of development studio and personnel restructuring in the author and design team, there was no longer a fixed date on which the game should appear. Now, however, Fredrik Wester, head of Paradox Interactive, has spoken about the release in an interview. He told the Swedish magazine Privata Affärer that he would not rule out 2023 as the year of publication. The final release date will be announced by the publisher soon.

    Release 2023 realistic

“We’ve been cautious with news about ‘Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2’ lately,” Wester said. Paraxox Interactive currently has 15 games in the pipeline. Especially with regard to the blood sucker sequel, which had already been postponed several times, one wanted to be absolutely sure that the information was correct in the context of this workload. “Game development isn’t an exact science, anything can happen,” Wester said. Nevertheless, he sees the work around ‘Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2’ positively: “We have the feeling that the game is in very good hands and we are incredibly satisfied with what we have seen.” That the game appearing next year, he considers “absolutely not impossible”.

Wester didn’t narrow down the possible release month. Nor did he name the current development studio – after Hardsuit Labs was withdrawn from the 2021 project, the new studio was not publicly named. Nevertheless, Wester’s statements will probably have raised hopes among fans.
